Privacy, in plain English.
Your scripts belong to you. Cue Studio processes the text you enter and the documents you import in your browser, without uploading or saving their contents to our cloud.

Learning through this project
Cue Studio is a practical learning project by The Origami Project. We are building a useful, live product to learn about product development, distribution, and whether the experience helps creators. Features may evolve as we learn.
This approach was inspired by A Funnel Can Be Correct and Still Answer the Wrong Question by Ibrahim Clava Raphael. The article explores how to choose meaningful product measurements and test whether they answer the question you intended.
Our intended use of analytics is to understand feature use and difficulties, rather than collect your scripts. The analytics section below explains its current status. This learning purpose does not expand the data we collect or replace the privacy choices described in this notice. If we publish lessons from usage, we will use aggregate findings without including scripts or identifying individual users.
Your scripts and documents
Typed and pasted scripts, speaker names, and imported document contents are processed on your device. Cue Studio does not upload these contents or imported filenames to a server. Importing a document reads the file locally; it does not send it to cloud storage.
The current app keeps script edits in page memory, without a saved script library. Refreshing the page loses those edits. Your original document stays wherever you saved it. Browser extensions, enhanced spellcheck, or other software you choose to use may have their own data practices.
Voice readout with KittenTTS
KittenTTS Nano generates speech inside your browser. Your script and generated audio are not sent to a hosted text-to-speech service, and the app does not record your microphone. KittenTTS SDK analytics are disabled.
The app automatically prepares voices in the background, even when voice readout is off. On first use this downloads about 28 MB of model and voice data, plus supporting runtime and pronunciation files. Supported assets are cached by your browser and reused; refreshing still requires initializing the engine. Switching readout off stops speech, but does not stop background preparation or remove cached files.
Downloads use Hugging Face, GitHub-hosted resources, and jsDelivr. Those providers receive normal network-request information, such as your IP address and browser information. They receive requests for shared software assets, not your script.
Understanding usage with PostHog
We plan to use PostHog to understand which features people use, where they get stuck, and how to improve the app. Intended events include starting a prompting session, changing modes, choosing a voice, and encountering an error, along with basic browser and device information.
Script text, speaker names, document contents, filenames, and generated audio must be excluded from analytics. Session replay is not enabled in this version. Any future replay setup would need to exclude both the editor and rendered teleprompter text, not just mask input fields.
Before analytics is enabled, this notice will identify the data collected, retention period, hosting region, and available privacy choices, including consent where required. See PostHog’s privacy policy.
Browser storage and other requests
Cue Studio saves your light or dark theme preference in browser local storage. Voice assets use browser caching where available. This version does not set advertising or analytics cookies.
The app requests fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives the technical information needed to serve those requests. See Google Fonts privacy information. A future public hosting provider may also process access and security logs; its details will be added when hosting is configured.
Your choices and retention
You can clear the editor, turn voice readout off, or close the app. Clearing the editor does not remove voice caches or your theme preference. To remove stored preferences and cached voice files, clear this site’s data in your browser settings; a later visit may download the files again.
Browser storage remains until you clear it or the browser removes it. Cue Studio has no server-side copy of your scripts to retrieve or delete. Future analytics records will have separate retention and deletion rules; clearing browser storage alone would not delete records already held by those services.
Contact and future updates
Cue Studio is operated by The Origami Project. For privacy questions or requests, email hello@cuestudio.cc. Please describe your request without including your script or document contents. Applicable rights and service-specific request procedures will be confirmed before public release.
We will update this page when data handling changes. PostHog integration will require an updated notice that matches the settings actually deployed.
